You've probably heard it said, "You are known by the company you keep."
I learned it the hard way...blackballed by a Fraternity for associating with the "wrong" brother. How was I to know he wasn't "liked" by his Frat Bros?
The rejection hurt. Nevertheless, it was a valuable lesson learned at a young age.
One is either good or bad. James 3:11 tells us, you can't get fresh and salt water from the same tap at the same time. I'm not saying "good" people can't do bad things, but when they do bad things, they're not really "good" people, are they?
You might be religious. You might go to church. You might even think you're a "good" person...but, if you sin, you do so willingly; and the wages of sin, is death.
Sometimes sin is easy to identify, like being asked to rob a liquor store; sometimes it's not, like taking office supplies home from work. You should know, God doesn't grade on the curve...stealing is stealing. And "stealing," like lying and cheating is a matter of the heart, not the head...only God can change a heart.
Staying away from evil people is good advice, but there is really only one way to avoid a sinful lifestyle...you must be reborn Spiritually.
Until you know, without a doubt, God is real...nothing else matters.
