LAWBREAKER

To Obey Or Not Obey, That Is The Question...

Jesus was very clear, he didn't come "to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance." (Luke 5:32)  Just as the "law" was not not made for the obedient, but the disobedient.

Preachers are quick to point out that since Jesus came, we are not under the law, we are under grace.  They say Jesus died for our sins past, present and future and everyone who accepts Jesus will have eternal life.

If you believe that, I've got some ocean-front property in Arizona to sell you.

Jesus did not die for our sins...he died for the sins of the world, to wipe the slate clean so God could usher in the new Spiritual covenant; Jesus died for our benefit, but not our sins.  Sins can only be forgiven thru repentance; his death 2,000 years ago did not absolve you of your sin this morning or yesterday or tomorrow.  You must repent.

When you are reborn Spiritually, God wipes your slate clean; but if you sin after that, you must repent...or when you die, you will die a sinner; and all sinners will burn in the lake of fire.  If you continue to sin, you must question whether you've been born again.

True, we are not under the law with respect to our eternal destiny.  Eternal life is not the reward for keeping the commandments; you keep the commandments out of respect for God.  Disobedience is simply a lack of respect.  Do you really think God will grant eternal life (immortality) to disobedient lawbreakers?  If so, you don't know God.

Until you know, without a doubt, God is real...nothing else matters.
