The Formula For A Happy Life

When I asked God the formula for living a happy life, he replied: "Live for Today, Prepare for tomorrow."  Simple, huh?

It's easy to say, not so easy to do.

Most people live in the past or the future (maybe both).  Forgetting to forgive and forget past sins done to them or socking away every penny for fear of "running out" in later years.  Both positions are dangerous to your Spiritual welfare.

If you can't forgive, neither can you be forgiven (Luke 6:37)  I learned in golf, there's nothing you can do about the last hole you played.  Yesterday is over, done, gone.  If you're holding a grudge against anyone, or using the past to berate or belittle someone, repent and move on.  If you want God to forgive you, forgive others.

As for money: the bigger your bank account, the farther you will move away from God...which is why Jesus said, "it's harder for a rich man to get into the kingdom of God than for a camel to go thru the eye of a needle." (Matthew 19:24)  "Saving" ten percent (a tithe) for retirement is a lot different than "hording" everything you make.

No one is guaranteed the next breath.  Be thankful always and make the most of every second God has given you.  You'll be happier (and so will those around you) if you stop living in the past or the future...and start living for today and preparing for tomorrow.
