Okay, this may seem like a no-brainer, but it is an important precept for living a happy, healthy, wealthy life.
Debt is the number one killer of your hopes and dreams. It keeps people working at jobs they hate; which make them and those around them miserable.
I've been there. I know what it's like to cringe every time the phone rings or someone knocks on the door...wondering which creditor it is this time. I know what it's like to lose a house, a car and a business. And I know what it's like to live on twenty-five dollars a week, eating beans and struggling to pay the electricity bill.
I also know the freedom of being debt-free. Having the ability to buy whatever you want, whenever you want...it's absolutely exhilarating.
It didn't happen overnight and it wasn't easy; but God never said it would be easy...only that it would be worth it.
Think of it this way: wealth and poverty are at opposite ends of a two-lane highway; everyone is going one way or the other If you're spending more than you make, you're on the way to poverty. If you're making more than you spend, you're on the way to wealth.
If you want a happier, healthier, wealthier life: Get out of, or don't go into, debt.
