Finding Wisdom

Ray Evans • March 10, 2020
Do you know the difference between wisdom and knowledge?

"Wisdom" comes from knowledge; "Knowledge" comes from experience.

For example, you know the stove is hot.  Is that because your parents told you (wisdom) or because you touched the stove (experience)?

"Experience" is the best teacher...but it doesn't have to be your experience.  If we would listen to wisdom (the experience of others), we wouldn't have to get burned to know the stove is hot.

The Bible is filled with wisdom...if we would just listen.

I mean, c'mon, who has more experience than God?  He created everything.  Only a fool would ignore his wisdom.

For instance, Proverbs 11:1 tells us, "A false balance is abomination to the Lord.  A "false balance" is cheating.  Charging different prices to different customers based on...well, anything, is wrong.

You might think offering "discounts" is righteous, but if you can offer a discount to one, why not offer it to all?

Offering discounts, is man's way...it's not God's way.

God is no respecter of persons; neither should you.

Why do people choose man's way over God's way?

They simply don't really believe God is real.  If they did, this world would be a much different, much better place.

Here is Wisdom: If you want a happier, healthier, wealthier life...God's way, works.

Until you know, without a doubt, God is real...nothing else matters.

Revelation 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth

Believing in the "Rapture" relieves you of the responsibility to do anything except believe in Jesus...who will magically whisk you away to heaven. It's a lie, designed to keep you from preparing or being prepared for what's coming.
Job 32:9 Great men are not always wise: neither do the aged understand judgment.

A lot of well-known and well-respected preachers talk about how long they have been preaching, as if the longer one preaches the more qualified one is to preach.
Job 28:28 And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom

This may seem a strange question, but it never ceases to amaze me how few people allow God to play an active role in their daily lives. Why anyone would not want the creator of the universe to help them every second, every minute and every hour of every day, is simply beyond me.
Psalms 15:1 Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?
By Ray Evans May 6, 2020
The question in Psalms 15, "Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle?" probably has as many answers as there are preachers, but they all stem from a common belief: "Everyone who believes in Jesus goes to heaven." Sounds great, but is it true?
