It's A Matter Of The Heart

Ray Evans • February 2, 2020
It's well documented, the Israelite's had a difficult time keeping the "law," so God told Jeremiah he was going to make a new covenant with his people (Jeremiah 31:33)

There would come a time when God would no longer require the blood of bulls and goats as a sacrifice for sin...he would put his laws in the hearts and minds of his people.  Every child of God would be a "priest," responsible for keeping the law.

Do Not Be Deceived: Jesus did not come so you could go to "heaven;" he came to call sinners to repentance.  "I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance." (Luke 5:32)

From birth, you are either a child of God or you're not...you know right from wrong because it's in your heart and mind; not that you always do right, especially as a youngster.  Nevertheless, knowing to do right and doing right are two different things.

You see, it's not what you know; it's what you do.

If you're a child of God you don't need anyone to tell you lying, cheating and stealing are wrong...it's in your heart and mind.

The bad news...there is no acceptable excuse for sinning.  When you choose to do wrong, you do so willingly...that's sin; and sin will keep you separated from God.

If you're living a sinful lifestyle, you are in danger of eternal damnation.

Confess your sins and pray as I prayed, "God, if you're real, I want to know"...because until you know, without a doubt, God is real...nothing else matters.

Revelation 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth

Believing in the "Rapture" relieves you of the responsibility to do anything except believe in Jesus...who will magically whisk you away to heaven. It's a lie, designed to keep you from preparing or being prepared for what's coming.
Job 32:9 Great men are not always wise: neither do the aged understand judgment.

A lot of well-known and well-respected preachers talk about how long they have been preaching, as if the longer one preaches the more qualified one is to preach.
Job 28:28 And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom

This may seem a strange question, but it never ceases to amaze me how few people allow God to play an active role in their daily lives. Why anyone would not want the creator of the universe to help them every second, every minute and every hour of every day, is simply beyond me.
Psalms 15:1 Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?
By Ray Evans May 6, 2020
The question in Psalms 15, "Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle?" probably has as many answers as there are preachers, but they all stem from a common belief: "Everyone who believes in Jesus goes to heaven." Sounds great, but is it true?
