It's Your Choice

Ray Evans • February 9, 2020
Contrary to popular belief...it is not God's job to make you happy.

God created the earth and all that's in it for our enjoyment...and left instructions for living a happy, healthy, wealthy life.  Why is it so hard?

Well, like Pogo said, "I have seen the enemy, and he is us."

We are our own worst enemy.  Perhaps you've heard of the seven deadly sins?  Pride, Covetousness, Lust, Anger, Gluttony, Envy, and Sloth (not the three-toed kind, Sloth is laziness). These are not actual "sins," and not specifically listed in the Bible as such; but any one of them will take you down the road to destruction.  It's called "selfishness."

God gave us a choice...life and blessing or death and cursing (Deuteronomy 30:19).  It's not predetermined or predestined.  We choose the kind of life we want.  All we have to do is walk in his ways and obey his voice for a happy, healthy, wealthy, blessed life.

While a lot of preachers call this "legalism," Jesus made it clear that he did not come to do away with the law or the prophets.  In other words, God hasn't changed his mind.

Life and blessing, is the reward for obedience.  Disobedience brings death and cursing.

Call it "legalism" if you want, but without obedience to God and his ways, irrespective of what the preacher says, you will have a miserable life.

You can't change the world, but you can change your world.  Repent.  Turn or return to God and be baptized in the Spirit; walk in his ways and obey his voice; and discover the abundant life God has for you.

Until you know the "Truth," until you're reborn Spiritually...nothing else matters.

Revelation 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth
By Ray Evans May 9, 2020
Believing in the "Rapture" relieves you of the responsibility to do anything except believe in Jesus...who will magically whisk you away to heaven. It's a lie, designed to keep you from preparing or being prepared for what's coming.
Job 32:9 Great men are not always wise: neither do the aged understand judgment.

A lot of well-known and well-respected preachers talk about how long they have been preaching, as if the longer one preaches the more qualified one is to preach.
Job 28:28 And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom

This may seem a strange question, but it never ceases to amaze me how few people allow God to play an active role in their daily lives. Why anyone would not want the creator of the universe to help them every second, every minute and every hour of every day, is simply beyond me.
Psalms 15:1 Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?
By Ray Evans May 6, 2020
The question in Psalms 15, "Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle?" probably has as many answers as there are preachers, but they all stem from a common belief: "Everyone who believes in Jesus goes to heaven." Sounds great, but is it true?
