Winners Don't Cheat

Ray Evans • February 10, 2020
Growing up, I remember my dad telling me that "Winners never cheat and cheater's never win."  Imagine my surprise when I entered the work force and found that bit of fatherly advice to be untrue...cheaters did win.  At least in the short-run.

In the long-run, unless they change their ways, cheaters will end up in hell.

Cheating is dishonest...no matter how you slice it.  Cheating is wrong; and choosing to do wrong willingly, is sin.  All sin is forgivable (except the unforgivable sin) if one repents.

Without repentance, sin will keep you separated from God.  If that's what you want, just keep lying, cheating and stealing...but be forewarned; if you don't change your ways, God will eventually harden your heart...just as he did with Pharaoh.  No one knows the day or hour when death comes to call.  You and I could both die with our next breath.  Just be warned: if you die a sinner, your name will not be written in the Book of Life...just saying.

You might think God doesn't see it when you cheat on your taxes, take advantage of people, or show favoritism to one person over another.  Contrary to what you hear from the pulpit, God doesn't know what you're going to do before you do it any more than you know if your kids drive drunk or OD...he does know everything you've done.

It is not God's desire that any of his kids should perish, but that all come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9).  It doesn't matter what you've done...God will welcome back any of his kids; but if you don't repent and change your ways, you will perish.  "I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish." (Luke 13:5)

Of course, until you're reborn Spiritually...nothing else matters.

Revelation 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth
By Ray Evans May 9, 2020
Believing in the "Rapture" relieves you of the responsibility to do anything except believe in Jesus...who will magically whisk you away to heaven. It's a lie, designed to keep you from preparing or being prepared for what's coming.
Job 32:9 Great men are not always wise: neither do the aged understand judgment.

A lot of well-known and well-respected preachers talk about how long they have been preaching, as if the longer one preaches the more qualified one is to preach.
Job 28:28 And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom
By Ray Evans May 7, 2020
This may seem a strange question, but it never ceases to amaze me how few people allow God to play an active role in their daily lives. Why anyone would not want the creator of the universe to help them every second, every minute and every hour of every day, is simply beyond me.
Psalms 15:1 Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?
By Ray Evans May 6, 2020
The question in Psalms 15, "Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle?" probably has as many answers as there are preachers, but they all stem from a common belief: "Everyone who believes in Jesus goes to heaven." Sounds great, but is it true?
