Nothing Else Matters

Early in my walk with God, he showed me a vision.

In the vision, I was standing on a river bank; on one side was "Belief," on the other was "Obedience;" on the bridge that connected the two sides was written the word, "Understanding."  Understanding (biynah) from the root "biyn" means, "to know."

Admittedly, I was frustrated by "Christians."  How could people say they believe in God, and not obey?  To me, they were just hypocrites and undeserving of anything from God, except to be slain like sheep.

Obedience was not a difficult concept; but the vision made it clear; people who lack understanding could believe in God, and not obey.  It was also clear that my "ministry" must focus on helping people understand the scriptures.

Obedience was the key to life and blessing. (Deuteronomy 30)  "Understanding" was the key to obedience and the Holy Spirit was the key to understanding (Isaiah 11:2)

The things of God are Spiritually discerned.  It's why Jesus said, "Ye must be born again."

Until you are reborn Spiritually, you can't understand the things of God; without understanding, you won't obey, and without obedience you won't have life and blessing.

Do Not Be Deceived: Disobedience to God and his word insures a miserable life and eternal damnation.

Oh, that you would understand.

Until you are reborn Spiritually, until you know, without a doubt, God is real...nothing else matters.

Revelation 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth

Believing in the "Rapture" relieves you of the responsibility to do anything except believe in Jesus...who will magically whisk you away to heaven. It's a lie, designed to keep you from preparing or being prepared for what's coming.
Job 32:9 Great men are not always wise: neither do the aged understand judgment.

A lot of well-known and well-respected preachers talk about how long they have been preaching, as if the longer one preaches the more qualified one is to preach.
Job 28:28 And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom

This may seem a strange question, but it never ceases to amaze me how few people allow God to play an active role in their daily lives. Why anyone would not want the creator of the universe to help them every second, every minute and every hour of every day, is simply beyond me.
Psalms 15:1 Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?
By Ray Evans May 6, 2020
The question in Psalms 15, "Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle?" probably has as many answers as there are preachers, but they all stem from a common belief: "Everyone who believes in Jesus goes to heaven." Sounds great, but is it true?
