The Beginning

Ray Evans • February 7, 2020
It all starts here.  If you don't "fear" the Lord, you will not obey his commandments; without obedience, there is no life and blessing...only death and cursing.  "The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death." (Proverbs 14:27)

Preachers today, preach a God who loves everyone and would never hurt anyone.  Don't be "afraid," they say; God is your friend (okay, all together now, "What a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and grief to bear...")  It's a great sound-bite that fills the pews and collection plate; but it's a myth, lie or misconception.  Remember, just because everyone believes something is true, doesn't make it truth.

If you're a child of God, he is your heavenly Father...not your BFF.  And, while "Progressives" have changed the family structure, God hasn't changed; nor has he changed his mind about obedience and disobedience. If you think children should obey their parents, why is it okay for you to disobey your heavenly Father?

Until you understand who God is; until you know, without a doubt, God is real, you will not fear him or obey him...and that's a dangerous road to travel.

Do you think you can live life anyway you want without consequences?

Sorry to be so brash, but this is important for the saving of your soul.

If you're living a life of sin and disobedience to God and his word, you should be afraid, be very afraid; because the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23).

And so I say again, "Until you know, without a doubt, God is real...nothing else matters."

Revelation 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth
By Ray Evans May 9, 2020
Believing in the "Rapture" relieves you of the responsibility to do anything except believe in Jesus...who will magically whisk you away to heaven. It's a lie, designed to keep you from preparing or being prepared for what's coming.
Job 32:9 Great men are not always wise: neither do the aged understand judgment.

A lot of well-known and well-respected preachers talk about how long they have been preaching, as if the longer one preaches the more qualified one is to preach.
Job 28:28 And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom

This may seem a strange question, but it never ceases to amaze me how few people allow God to play an active role in their daily lives. Why anyone would not want the creator of the universe to help them every second, every minute and every hour of every day, is simply beyond me.
Psalms 15:1 Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?
By Ray Evans May 6, 2020
The question in Psalms 15, "Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle?" probably has as many answers as there are preachers, but they all stem from a common belief: "Everyone who believes in Jesus goes to heaven." Sounds great, but is it true?
