Heaven On Earth

Ray Evans • February 6, 2020
Okay, take off your rose-colored glasses for a minute and come down to earth.

There's a lot of talk today about the "End of the world"...with good reason.  The Biblical signs are in place.  The signs of the end of the age have never lined up with Scripture as well as they do, right now.

Do Not Be Deceived: It's not the end of the world.

In 1 Thessalonians 4:17 Paul was saying don't worry about those who have died (fallen asleep), Christ will bring them with him when he returns.  He was assuring people there is life after death...and there is, it's just not what you think.

Before Christ's return, there's a thousand years of peace on earth (Revelation 20:5).  There hasn't been a thousand years of peace; but there will be, after God rains fire on the earth and "reboots" the world...just as it was in the days of Noah.

Before you get excited about the "rapture," which do you think is more likely to usher in a thousand years of peace on earth: bodies floating up to heaven, or the ground littered with the corpses of those who were unprepared, waiting for the "rapture."

Who do you think God is going to leave on the earth to enjoy a thousand years of peace?  The wicked, evil and unrepentant?  God did not remove the righteous in the flood, he removed the unrighteous.  Do you really think God is returning the earth to its former glory...for the wicked to enjoy?  If so, you don't know God.

The "earth" is our inheritance (the meek shall inherit the earth, sound familiar?).  Think about a thousand years with no sickness or disease...no lying, cheating, stealing or killing.  A thousand years where every knee bows and tongue proclaims that Jesus is Lord.  Does that sound like a world inhabited by unbelievers?

Only a remnant will be saved.  Only a few (the Elect) will be left to live and enjoy God's creation as it was meant to be...just as it was in the days of Noah.  If you think "heaven" is your reward, you have missed the point.

It was never God's plan for his people to live, die and go to heaven.  It was for them to live and enjoy his creation for eternity (remember, the Tree of Life (Immortality) was also in the garden).  "But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection." (Revelation 20:5)

Do Not Be Deceived: "Heaven" is not about living in a mansion and partying with loved ones.  It's simply a "resting place" before the judgment.  After judgment, you will either live eternally or get tossed in the lake of fire.

However, until you're reborn Spiritually...nothing else matters.

Revelation 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth

Believing in the "Rapture" relieves you of the responsibility to do anything except believe in Jesus...who will magically whisk you away to heaven. It's a lie, designed to keep you from preparing or being prepared for what's coming.
Job 32:9 Great men are not always wise: neither do the aged understand judgment.

A lot of well-known and well-respected preachers talk about how long they have been preaching, as if the longer one preaches the more qualified one is to preach.
Job 28:28 And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom

This may seem a strange question, but it never ceases to amaze me how few people allow God to play an active role in their daily lives. Why anyone would not want the creator of the universe to help them every second, every minute and every hour of every day, is simply beyond me.
Psalms 15:1 Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?
By Ray Evans May 6, 2020
The question in Psalms 15, "Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle?" probably has as many answers as there are preachers, but they all stem from a common belief: "Everyone who believes in Jesus goes to heaven." Sounds great, but is it true?
