A Marriage Made In Heaven

Ray Evans • February 5, 2020
It's not unusual for God to use the marriage analogy to describe Spiritual rebirth.  As in marriage, both spouses agree to forsake all others...and become one.

It is exactly what happens when you are reborn Spiritually...you become one with God.  Thus, Jesus said, "I and my Father are one" (John 10:30) and as he explained to his disciples, "The Father is in me, and I in him." (John 10:38)

Like a marriage," you and God become one "flesh;" two separate entities, joined by a solemn vow...a vow; not to be taken lightly.  The "Bridegroom" (God) promises to provide and protect; and the "Bride" (you) promise to honor and obey.

I know the "indwelling" of the Holy Spirit is hard to understand.  Whadda ya mean the Holy Spirit enters your heart...sounds a little twilight-zonish.

I can't explain Spiritual birth, any more than I can explain natural birth...it must be experienced; but I can tell you this: when you are reborn Spiritually, you have an insatiable hunger and thirst for God and an innate desire to please him...like the feelings you have for your spouse when you first get married.

The Bible says in the last days, the love of many would wax cold (Matthew 24:12) . If this is you; if your hunger for God and the innate desire to please him has faded; your "heavenly marriage," (like most earthly marriages) is in trouble.  Your sin has created a separation from God.  If so, humble yourself, confess your sins and return to God.

Recommit your vow to honor and obey...before you end up divorced, Spiritually.

Revelation 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth
By Ray Evans May 9, 2020
Believing in the "Rapture" relieves you of the responsibility to do anything except believe in Jesus...who will magically whisk you away to heaven. It's a lie, designed to keep you from preparing or being prepared for what's coming.
Job 32:9 Great men are not always wise: neither do the aged understand judgment.

A lot of well-known and well-respected preachers talk about how long they have been preaching, as if the longer one preaches the more qualified one is to preach.
Job 28:28 And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom

This may seem a strange question, but it never ceases to amaze me how few people allow God to play an active role in their daily lives. Why anyone would not want the creator of the universe to help them every second, every minute and every hour of every day, is simply beyond me.
Psalms 15:1 Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?
By Ray Evans May 6, 2020
The question in Psalms 15, "Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle?" probably has as many answers as there are preachers, but they all stem from a common belief: "Everyone who believes in Jesus goes to heaven." Sounds great, but is it true?
