Here is Wisdom:
"The man who loves pleasure will be poor; wine and luxury are not the way to riches" (Proverbs 21:17 TLB)
Remember the road we talked about earlier? The road to wealth or poverty? Well, like it or not, you're on it. You may also remember that I said you're on the way to poverty if you're spending more than you make. How can you do that?
Easy. Did you ever buy a car? Unless you paid cash, you spent money you didn't have. We are going to talk about borrowing next, but until then, when you borrow money to buy something, you're spending money you don't have; and that's a dangerous way to live.
Scripture says, "Be content with such things as ye have" (Hebrews 13:5) And therein lies the problem. We want "things," and we want them "NOW!"
It's not a lack of faith that causes poverty...it's pride, greed and lack of patience.
Be patient; God knows what you need. Follow The S.I.M.P.L.E. Way and the day will come when you can buy whatever you want, whenever you want...God's way works.
Caution:
Using the income of both husband and wife virtually assures you a lifetime of problems. When you base your lifestyle on two incomes and one of those incomes stop due to job loss, pregnancy, divorce, etc., you will be up the proverbial creek.
I'm not opposed to women working (if they're single or there are no children at home); but it was not God's plan for wives to work outside the home. Call me a chauvinist, but I'm reasonably sure if wives made creating a happy home their career, we would have a much better society, a lot fewer divorces...and single mothers.
