Ye Must Be Born Again

As you might imagine there were a lot of confusing issues in Jesus' day...not the least of which is the Kingdom of God.

The Israelites were looking for a conquering Messiah to set up a physical kingdom; so it's understandable that a meek servant riding a donkey announcing a spiritual kingdom would be a hard to accept.

Like a lot of folks today, they believed in God, but they didn't believe God.

The kingdom of God is not physical, it's spiritual...without the Spirit of God you cannot see or enter the kingdom; as Jesus said, "Ye must be born again." 

Or as the French Jesuit priest, Pierre Teilhard de Chardin said, "We are not physical beings having a spiritual experience; we're spiritual beings having a physical experience."

God is Spirit and the things of God are Spiritually discerned...without the Spirit of God, you cannot understand the things of God.  The Bible will seem like just a bunch of stories and endless genealogies.

How do you get the Spirit of God? 

Ask...but you must ask from your heart, not your head.  You must truly want God in your life and trust me, God knows when you're insincere or just "covering your bases."  He will test your heart.

When you're reborn Spiritually, God breathes life into your spirit.  Your spirit becomes God's Spirit...thus, "the kingdom of God is within you;" it is the Holy Spirit who reveals God to you; then, and only then will you know, without a doubt, God is real.

You may be religious, a good person, go to church regularly and tithe to the max; but if you lack a hunger and thirst for God's word and pleasing God is not the priority of your life, you haven't been reborn Spiritually.

Do Not Be Deceived: Until you are reborn Spiritually...nothing else matters.

There's A New World Coming

Believing in the "Rapture" relieves you of the responsibility to do anything except believe in Jesus...who will magically whisk you away to heaven. It's a lie, designed to keep you from preparing or being prepared for what's coming.

A Part or Apart?

This may seem a strange question, but it never ceases to amaze me how few people allow God to play an active role in their daily lives. Why anyone would not want the creator of the universe to help them every second, every minute and every hour of every day, is simply beyond me.

The $64,000 Question

The question in Psalms 15, "Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle?" probably has as many answers as there are preachers, but they all stem from a common belief: "Everyone who believes in Jesus goes to heaven." Sounds great, but is it true?
