A House Is Not A Home

A lot of preachers use this scripture to "prove" that we are going to have a new life in heaven, just like the one on earth...only better.

If the thought of living in a heavenly mansion excites you, you have missed the whole point of the Bible.  Do you really think God wants you to be poor down here, so he can make you rich up there?  If you're good, you go to heaven; if you're bad, you go to hell?

Let's settle this once and for all...you can't be good enough to get in, or bad enough to be kept out.  Technically, every one is going to heaven...because "heaven" is not the end; it is just the beginning.  A place where souls rest until the judgement.

There are simply too many issues to resolve to believe we'll have a new life in heaven (Will we have jobs?  Eat in restaurants?  Go to the bathroom?).  In the Bible, with a couple of exceptions, people who die go to "sleep with their fathers."

If you were looking forward to partying with friends, sorry...you're just going to sleep until the judgement.  Sleep is not a bad thing...it is the most merciful and the most supported by scripture.  After judgement: eternal life or eternal damnation.

If you want to believe the preachers, okay...you can believe anything you want.  If you want to fantasize about a mansion, a luxury car, yacht, jewelry, or even 95 virgins...have at it.

Do Not Be Deceived:  Whether you live in a mansion or sleep, the important question is not, "What happens after we die?"  It's what happens after judgement?

Until you're reborn Spiritually...nothing else matters.

Revelation 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth

Believing in the "Rapture" relieves you of the responsibility to do anything except believe in Jesus...who will magically whisk you away to heaven. It's a lie, designed to keep you from preparing or being prepared for what's coming.
Job 32:9 Great men are not always wise: neither do the aged understand judgment.

A lot of well-known and well-respected preachers talk about how long they have been preaching, as if the longer one preaches the more qualified one is to preach.
Job 28:28 And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom

This may seem a strange question, but it never ceases to amaze me how few people allow God to play an active role in their daily lives. Why anyone would not want the creator of the universe to help them every second, every minute and every hour of every day, is simply beyond me.
Psalms 15:1 Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?
By Ray Evans May 6, 2020
The question in Psalms 15, "Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle?" probably has as many answers as there are preachers, but they all stem from a common belief: "Everyone who believes in Jesus goes to heaven." Sounds great, but is it true?
