Consider This

This is a very familiar scripture...usually quoted with respect to money.  If you have been "blessed" with a lot of money, you should give a lot of money.  I don't disagree with the premise, but that's taking this scripture out of context.

When you are reborn Spiritually, God gives you the gift of the Holy Spirit to guide you into all truth and show you things to come. (John 16:13)

There is no greater gift than the gift of eternal life.  However, having received much, much is expected...and that's what this scripture refers to.  Anyone who knows God's will and doesn't do it will be "beaten," those who don't know his will, will still be beaten, just not as severely.

The road to life is not an easy road, but God never said it would be easy, just that it would be worth it.

If eternal life isn't worth it, what is?

How were the "heroes" of the Bible able to overcome seemingly insurmountable odds to accomplish unbelievable things?  They all knew, without a doubt, God was real.

Do you think Jesus would have lived a sinless life and willingly suffered death on a cross, if he didn't know God was real?  Do you think Paul would have survived the stoning, imprisonment, shipwrecks, etc., if he didn't know God was real?  Do you think the Apostles would have submitted themselves to horrendous deaths for their beliefs, if they didn't know God was real?  They endured for one reason...they knew God was real.

You see, until you know, without a doubt, God is real...nothing else matters.

Revelation 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth
By Ray Evans May 9, 2020
Believing in the "Rapture" relieves you of the responsibility to do anything except believe in Jesus...who will magically whisk you away to heaven. It's a lie, designed to keep you from preparing or being prepared for what's coming.
Job 32:9 Great men are not always wise: neither do the aged understand judgment.

A lot of well-known and well-respected preachers talk about how long they have been preaching, as if the longer one preaches the more qualified one is to preach.
Job 28:28 And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom

This may seem a strange question, but it never ceases to amaze me how few people allow God to play an active role in their daily lives. Why anyone would not want the creator of the universe to help them every second, every minute and every hour of every day, is simply beyond me.
Psalms 15:1 Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?
By Ray Evans May 6, 2020
The question in Psalms 15, "Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle?" probably has as many answers as there are preachers, but they all stem from a common belief: "Everyone who believes in Jesus goes to heaven." Sounds great, but is it true?
