Entertaining Angels

Ray Evans • February 12, 2020
Growing up I remember signs along the highway that said, "Radar," or "Radar Enforced" or "Speed Checked By Radar"  or some other variation warning speeders to slow down.

Generally speaking, there was no "radar"...just a sign; but the sign was enough to get some speeders to slow down.

Of course, if you don't speed; if you don't break the law, the signs are of no concern.

This scripture, "Be not forgetful to entertain strangers:" is followed by, "For thereby some have entertained angels unawares."  Kind of a Spiritual "Radar" sign.

We know radar exists, so a sign warning us of radar can be effective at slowing some people down...it takes more than a sign for some sinners (yes, speeding is a sin)

Do angels exist?  The Bible is filled with angelic visitations, so I have to say, "Yes, angels exist."  Have I seen one?  I don't know...and that's the point.

We are to be mindful of the poor and needy among us...and help, if and when we can; they could be angels God sent to test your resolve.  Will you help, or won't you?

When you see a need, is your first thought to fill the need or run away from it?

You see, God doesn't want you to give...he wants you to be giving.  It's a matter of the heart, not the head.  So don't forget to entertain strangers...they could be angels.

Revelation 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth

Believing in the "Rapture" relieves you of the responsibility to do anything except believe in Jesus...who will magically whisk you away to heaven. It's a lie, designed to keep you from preparing or being prepared for what's coming.
Job 32:9 Great men are not always wise: neither do the aged understand judgment.

A lot of well-known and well-respected preachers talk about how long they have been preaching, as if the longer one preaches the more qualified one is to preach.
Job 28:28 And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom

This may seem a strange question, but it never ceases to amaze me how few people allow God to play an active role in their daily lives. Why anyone would not want the creator of the universe to help them every second, every minute and every hour of every day, is simply beyond me.
Psalms 15:1 Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?
By Ray Evans May 6, 2020
The question in Psalms 15, "Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle?" probably has as many answers as there are preachers, but they all stem from a common belief: "Everyone who believes in Jesus goes to heaven." Sounds great, but is it true?
