God Will...If You Will

Ray Evans • January 27, 2020
There are many misconceptions about God and his ways.  Will he?  Or Won't he?  Does he? Or Doesn't he?  Can he?  Or Can't he?  Why doesn't he answer my prayers?

A lot of preachers promote God as a kind of Spiritual ATM machine.  It tickles the ears and fills the pews and collection plate, but that's not God.  He is not a "Genie," where your every wish is his command.  If that's what you think, you don't know God...and if you don't know God, getting stuff is the least of your problems.

God has given us everything we need to live a happy, healthy, wealthy life...he gave us laws and statues to live by; perhaps you've heard of them; the Ten Commandments?

Contrary to what you hear from the pulpit, God doesn't know what you're going to do before you do it; any more than you know if your son is going to come home drunk from a party or your daughter is going to overdose on drugs.  You can tell them they shouldn't, just as God tells us, but that won't stop them...or us, from disobeying.

Will God help you?  Guide you"  Direct your steps?  Yes, but only if you ask him.

Here's the rub..."he that cometh to God must believe that he is" (Hebrews 11:6)

You won't "acknowledge him in all your ways" until you know, without a doubt, God is real...the only way you can know that, is when the Holy Spirit reveals it to you...to wit, as Jesus said, "you must be "born again."

Until then, nothing else matters.

Revelation 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth

Believing in the "Rapture" relieves you of the responsibility to do anything except believe in Jesus...who will magically whisk you away to heaven. It's a lie, designed to keep you from preparing or being prepared for what's coming.
Job 32:9 Great men are not always wise: neither do the aged understand judgment.

A lot of well-known and well-respected preachers talk about how long they have been preaching, as if the longer one preaches the more qualified one is to preach.
Job 28:28 And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom

This may seem a strange question, but it never ceases to amaze me how few people allow God to play an active role in their daily lives. Why anyone would not want the creator of the universe to help them every second, every minute and every hour of every day, is simply beyond me.
Psalms 15:1 Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?
By Ray Evans May 6, 2020
The question in Psalms 15, "Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle?" probably has as many answers as there are preachers, but they all stem from a common belief: "Everyone who believes in Jesus goes to heaven." Sounds great, but is it true?
