Trust And Obey

Ray Evans • January 28, 2020
If you look at the Bible as a whole, rather than reading each scripture as a separate thought, a central theme begins to emerge...trust and obey.

It's easy to say...not so easy to do; and that's the point.  If it was easy, anyone could do it...but it's not for everyone; the Bible is God's instruction manual for his children.

People "trust" what they can see; If they can't see it, it's not real (gravity and air notwithstanding)...and that's the problem with most "Christians," because they can't see God, they just don't believe he's real.

Oh, they believe "IN" God; like Peter, they have the physical knowledge, the "head" knowledge, but lack the Spiritual knowledge, the "divine influence on the heart.".  If their life depended on it, they would quickly denounce their "belief." (Matthew 26:75)

How can you trust God, if you don't believe he's real?

The short answer is, you can't.

The things of God are Spiritual; until you are reborn Spiritually, until you know, without a doubt, God is real, you won't trust him.  If you don't trust him, you won't obey him...and disobedience brings death and cursing.  That's why you see a continuous plea on this website to get down on your knees, repent of your sins, and pray as I prayed, "God, if you're real, I want to know."

Because until you know, without a doubt, God is real...nothing else matters.

Revelation 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth

Believing in the "Rapture" relieves you of the responsibility to do anything except believe in Jesus...who will magically whisk you away to heaven. It's a lie, designed to keep you from preparing or being prepared for what's coming.
Job 32:9 Great men are not always wise: neither do the aged understand judgment.

A lot of well-known and well-respected preachers talk about how long they have been preaching, as if the longer one preaches the more qualified one is to preach.
Job 28:28 And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom

This may seem a strange question, but it never ceases to amaze me how few people allow God to play an active role in their daily lives. Why anyone would not want the creator of the universe to help them every second, every minute and every hour of every day, is simply beyond me.
Psalms 15:1 Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?
By Ray Evans May 6, 2020
The question in Psalms 15, "Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle?" probably has as many answers as there are preachers, but they all stem from a common belief: "Everyone who believes in Jesus goes to heaven." Sounds great, but is it true?
