Only One Way

Ray Evans • January 29, 2020
People believe there are lots of ways to get to heaven, but there's really only one way...die.

Everyone goes to heaven when they die; so we can put that to rest.

However, "heaven" is not eternal life; no mansions, no partying with friends; it's just a resting place for souls (good and bad) until judgement when God rewards those whose name is written in the Book of Life with eternal life and sentences those who aren't to eternal damnation.  Until then, we just sleep.

For all intents and purposes, there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with "man's" way; but the result of living "man's" way is evident...crime and violence, death and destruction.

It is the "wide" road that most people follow, even most "Christians."

No true child of God would ever commit murder, adultery or even cheat on his/her taxes.  You won't find them in the welfare line or the county jail.  They don't lie, cheat or steal...ever.

When I say "child of God" I'm not talking about "Christians."  Not all Christians are God's kids.  I'm talking about "born-again" Spirit-filled people who know, without a doubt, God is real.  When you know God is real; your highest priority is to please him...you know disobedience leads to death and cursing. (Deuteronomy 30:19)

If you think its okay to lie, cheat and steal, sometimes...if you think abortion is okay under some circumstances and marriage between same-sex couples is acceptable, you don't know God.

Murder is wrong under any circumstance and homosexuality is an abomination to God.

Yes, "man's" way seems okay, but it is the road to hell.

Until you know, without a doubt, God is real...nothing else matters.

Revelation 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth

Believing in the "Rapture" relieves you of the responsibility to do anything except believe in Jesus...who will magically whisk you away to heaven. It's a lie, designed to keep you from preparing or being prepared for what's coming.
Job 32:9 Great men are not always wise: neither do the aged understand judgment.

A lot of well-known and well-respected preachers talk about how long they have been preaching, as if the longer one preaches the more qualified one is to preach.
Job 28:28 And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom

This may seem a strange question, but it never ceases to amaze me how few people allow God to play an active role in their daily lives. Why anyone would not want the creator of the universe to help them every second, every minute and every hour of every day, is simply beyond me.
Psalms 15:1 Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?
By Ray Evans May 6, 2020
The question in Psalms 15, "Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle?" probably has as many answers as there are preachers, but they all stem from a common belief: "Everyone who believes in Jesus goes to heaven." Sounds great, but is it true?
