Holy Is His Name

Ray Evans • January 18, 2020
The biggest mistake made by the religious elite is forgetting that God is Holy.  "Holy" means sacred, consecrated, morally blameless...God expects no less from us.

It doesn't mean you have to become a Monk or enter a Convent; but if that's what it takes for you to be "morally blameless," you might want to consider it.  As Jesus said, "If your eye offends, pluck it out; it's better to enter the kingdom with one eye, than to have two eyes and be cast into hell." (Matthew 18:9)

I heard it said on the radio today that over 80% of Americans believe they're going to "heaven."  How many "morally blameless" people do you know?  Even one?

Preachers are leading God's people astray.  They have turned God into a "loving God," that would never hurt anyone, especially us.  He is your "friend," he loves everyone, and his laws are just "recommendations" he hopes you will follow, but it's okay if you don't.  All your sins past, present and future, have been forgiven.  All together now, Kumbaya.

Do not be deceived:  God hasn't changed.  He's the same yesterday, today and forever.  He is Holy and he expects his children to be Holy.  This is serious business.  If you're not taking God and his word seriously, you do so at your own peril.

If you think God wants to meet you for a "beer," friend you on Facebook and be your BFF, you don't know God.  He is Holy; the Alpha and Omega...He is God.

My greatest fear is disappointing God...what's your greatest fear?

Until you know, without a doubt, God is real...nothing else matters.

Revelation 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth
By Ray Evans May 9, 2020
Believing in the "Rapture" relieves you of the responsibility to do anything except believe in Jesus...who will magically whisk you away to heaven. It's a lie, designed to keep you from preparing or being prepared for what's coming.
Job 32:9 Great men are not always wise: neither do the aged understand judgment.

A lot of well-known and well-respected preachers talk about how long they have been preaching, as if the longer one preaches the more qualified one is to preach.
Job 28:28 And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom

This may seem a strange question, but it never ceases to amaze me how few people allow God to play an active role in their daily lives. Why anyone would not want the creator of the universe to help them every second, every minute and every hour of every day, is simply beyond me.
Psalms 15:1 Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?
By Ray Evans May 6, 2020
The question in Psalms 15, "Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle?" probably has as many answers as there are preachers, but they all stem from a common belief: "Everyone who believes in Jesus goes to heaven." Sounds great, but is it true?
