I love what Michael Pritchard said,
“You don't stop laughing because you grow old. You grow old because you stop laughing.”
I guess I need to laugh more...I spend more time at the doctor's now than ever before.
There are those who say visiting a doctor is a lack of faith...I'm not one of them.
I believe God can heal...my brother is a cancer survivor; but I also believe God gave us doctors for the same reason he gave us divorce...for the hardness of our hearts.
I'm not a student of "natural" remedies; but I have a few books on the subject and it seems like almost every ailment has a corresponding remedy in plants.
A lot of the manufactured pills, capsules and drugs we consume, have their origin in nature. For instance, did you know that "aspirin" comes from the bark of the Willow tree?
I'm not a fan of synthetic drugs and I have embarked on a journey to rid myself of all synthetic drugs and even supplements.
I'm a big believer that God's Way, Works, so I'm making some lifestyle changes. I've gone "Low-Carb," essentially more vegetables and lean proteins. I cut out the "junk food." I also cut out all sugar (as much as possible) since I have been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes.
I'm happy to report that I have lost 25 lbs and my A1C has plummeted to the point where I no longer need any drugs to manage the diabetes.
I'm not suggesting that you stop taking your meds...I made lifestyle changes in diet and exercise that allowed me to kick the drugs with approval from my doctor.
What about the "Merry Heart?"
A "Merry Heart" reduces "stress;" which reduces the amount of cortisol; which lowers the risk of heart disease; which is the number one cause of death in the U.S.
Everyday you can choose to be happy or sad...choose happy. Laughter is good medicine and will do wonders for you and everyone around you.
