Sin No More

Ray Evans • February 16, 2020
"Go, and sin no more"...easy to say, not so easy to do.

We "sin" so casually and easily that it's not even given a second thought.  I mean, c'mon, everyone lies, right?

I remember my Mom saying, "If everyone jumped off a cliff, would you?"  The analogy is closer than you think...sin leads to eternal damnation; it's not "jumping off a cliff," it's going to hell.  If that's what you want, just keep sinning.

A lot of preachers say that if you accept Jesus, all your sins past, present and future are forgiven.  It's a lovely soundbite that tickles the ears, but it's not true.  Remember, just because everyone believes something is true, doesn't make it truth.

Without repentance there is no remission of sin.  Repentance means "to turn around;" to stop doing whatever it is you're doing and start doing the opposite.  "Repentance" is not a "set it and forget it" app...every time you sin, you need to repent.

Most Christians believe that Jesus died for their sins, so they can live any way they want and still go to heaven.

Do Not Be Deceived: If Jesus died for sins past present and future, why would he need to tell the woman to "Go and sin no more?"  Wouldn't her sins have been forgiven when he died on the cross?

Trust me, there are going to a lot of disappointed Christians at the pearly gate when they hear, "I never knew you: depart from me, ye workers of iniquity." (Matthew 7:23)

People sin because they don't really believe God is real...if they knew, without a doubt, God was real, they would know that sin separates you from God (Isiah 59:2) and the wages of sin is death. (Romans 6:23)

It's easy to say, "Go, and sin no more;" but until you know, without a doubt, God is real...you won't stop sinning.  If you don't stop sinning, you're going to hell.  Sorry to be so blunt, but you need to know the truth.

Until you know, without a doubt, God is real...nothing else matters.

Revelation 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth
By Ray Evans May 9, 2020
Believing in the "Rapture" relieves you of the responsibility to do anything except believe in Jesus...who will magically whisk you away to heaven. It's a lie, designed to keep you from preparing or being prepared for what's coming.
Job 32:9 Great men are not always wise: neither do the aged understand judgment.

A lot of well-known and well-respected preachers talk about how long they have been preaching, as if the longer one preaches the more qualified one is to preach.
Job 28:28 And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom

This may seem a strange question, but it never ceases to amaze me how few people allow God to play an active role in their daily lives. Why anyone would not want the creator of the universe to help them every second, every minute and every hour of every day, is simply beyond me.
Psalms 15:1 Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?
By Ray Evans May 6, 2020
The question in Psalms 15, "Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle?" probably has as many answers as there are preachers, but they all stem from a common belief: "Everyone who believes in Jesus goes to heaven." Sounds great, but is it true?
