To Bee Or Not To Bee

Ray Evans • January 21, 2020
Decades ago, while our teenage daughter was at a sleepover, my wife and I decided to spend a nostalgic night on my daughter's waterbed.  It was great; until we heard a rapping on the glass doors that led to the balcony outside her second-story bedroom.

I went to the door and pulled back the drapes...there in the moonlight stood our neighbor's teenage son.  I'm not sure which of us was more startled, but he dashed across the roof, scurried down to the yard and bolted across the street.

Anyone with a teenage daughter knows the anguish a father goes thru raising a daughter...my first thought was to lock her in the closet until she was older, like 37.

Our daughter never gave us a reason not to trust her; so we believed her when she said they were just friends.  Nevertheless, I hit my knees...asking God to protect her.

The next day, my daughter came down and said there's a dead bee in her room.  Upon inspection, I found and filled a small area where the door frame had pulled away from the wall.  I noticed several bees flying around the balcony.  The next day, several more and by the end of the week there was a swarm of honey bees occupying the balcony.

The bees stayed with us until we moved back to Texas.,,no one was ever stung; and, as I understand it, we had the largest honeycomb in Oklahoma, inside the walls.

I prayed for God's protection...he sent bees.  You can think what you want, but every time I see a bee, it reminds me of the power of prayer; and God's ability to answer.

Until you know, without a doubt, God is real...nothing else matters.

Revelation 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth

Believing in the "Rapture" relieves you of the responsibility to do anything except believe in Jesus...who will magically whisk you away to heaven. It's a lie, designed to keep you from preparing or being prepared for what's coming.
Job 32:9 Great men are not always wise: neither do the aged understand judgment.

A lot of well-known and well-respected preachers talk about how long they have been preaching, as if the longer one preaches the more qualified one is to preach.
Job 28:28 And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom

This may seem a strange question, but it never ceases to amaze me how few people allow God to play an active role in their daily lives. Why anyone would not want the creator of the universe to help them every second, every minute and every hour of every day, is simply beyond me.
Psalms 15:1 Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?
By Ray Evans May 6, 2020
The question in Psalms 15, "Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle?" probably has as many answers as there are preachers, but they all stem from a common belief: "Everyone who believes in Jesus goes to heaven." Sounds great, but is it true?
